Acting CEO of GITEC and leading member of the opposition NDC, Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to refrain from obstructing the work of Ghana’s state security agencies.
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, he stressed that law enforcement must be allowed to operate independently, without political interference.
His comments follow the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s renewed declaration of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a wanted fugitive, urging that all those implicated in alleged wrongdoing must be held accountable.
Dr. Tanko described Ofori-Atta as “a fugitive… running away from the law,” and insisted the former minister must face interrogation.
He emphasized that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama is committed to recovering looted state funds.
“These are the things we are looking at,” he said, adding that every legal effort will be made to ensure Ofori-Atta is returned to Ghana to face justice.
